Easy Does It

Easy Does It

Another day, another casual look that hopefully doesn't make me look like a slob. I'm so boring lately. But I'm planning on giving myself a pompadour in the near future, so that should spruce things up a bit.

Otherwise, my life has consisted of work and homework. Homework and work. And maybe a little bit of The Hunger Games. I just finished the first book and I didn't want to like it, but I did. I really, really did. I think I might sneak out and go to the movie tomorrow. By myself. Because I can't wait any longer.

Vest: J. Crew
Jeans: Express
Boots: Steve Madden
Scarf: Target
Bag: Fossil

  1. Ashley, I just love this picture
Everything is just beautiful to me in it
love the somberness of the colors and then that gorgeous pink scarf.
I would NOT call you a slob
I know you just can't help getting sucked into those books!

  2. Nope, still not a slob. I don't know that you're capable of that my dear. I love that pink scarf. It's just so crazy pink and yet isn't so over the top with the simple black and white of the rest of this look. Love it.

Oh the Hunger Games. I won't say a word, but I will be curious as to your take on the movie (and rest of the series if you read them.)

  4. Is it really that good? I've been trying not to get sucked into it like I did with Harry Potter and Twilight! But then everyone seems to be raving about the film. And everyone seems to be unable to put the book(s) down. Hmmmm..... x x

  5. I think you look gorgeous. I love this outfit. Right up my alley. The bright scarf is a great touch. I think this photo looks like it came straight out of Vogue. No joke.

Hunger Games. YES, I LOVED the first book. I then devoured the second and the third. (not as awesome but still entertaining) I read them months before the movie was released. And then anxiously awaited the film which I thought was accurate but missing some big moments from the book. But if they'd included everything, it would have been 5 hours long.

    That is all.

    Tracy

  10. I totally know what you mean about not WANTING to like the Hunger Games. I really need to read the book now and see what all the fuss is about. Maybe it really is something worth making such a big deal over. I watched the movie before I read the book, but only because I was forced into it. It was after our mock trial competition, and we were two hours away from home, and everyone was going, so there was no way out. It was pretty amazing, and I am certain the book is even better. Anyway, you do not look like a slob whatsoever. I adore that you incorporated that formal vest into your casual outfit. And I REALLY look forward to seeing your pompadour. (:

    Love and brains,
    Emily

  13. DOOOOOOOOOO the pompadour! Though I heart this look a whole lot, so I don't mind waiting a few more days to see your hair in all it's HUGE glory!

I totally felt the same way about Hunger Games, actually. Being the book snob that I am (or assume I am) I didn't want to read it. And when I finally did, I didn't want to like it. I criticized the first chapter to death and then kept on reading anyway. And yeah, I liked it. So I HAD to watch the movie. Are you team Peeta? Because I am (Peeta +Katniss= Peeniss).

    In regards to your comments:
le bangs are short but yes, I can still push or pin them to the sides if need be.
I wouldn't be worried about your (lack of) respectability. Boobies are kinda like booties, but booties are bigger. ba donk a donk.
I keep on wanting Zara stuffs too, but I am a horrible maintainer of clothing, which is why I thrift of buy cheap. But I keep on seeing lovely blazers from Zara on bloggers and I want to convince myself that I can be a better clothing keeper.

P.S. I think you cannot look like a slob when you're wearing a pink shawl like this.
