I like this outfit because it almost makes me look like a real girl rather than the circus midget that I am. I'm rocking 5+" heels underneath those chambray pants or else they'd be dragging all over the place. I'm an earthy tones kind of girl, so of course I kept the look mostly neutral, but--since after all, it IS spring--I decided to throw in a little bit of color for y'all. Yeah yeah, you're welcome.

I know you've seen this bag a million times and probably will request to be buried with it when I'm dead, but whatever.

Okay, so a lot of you asked me about my opinions on The Hunger Games in the last post, so here we go: I saw the movie on Friday and wasn't overly impressed. I mean, there wasn't anything technically wrong with it, but it lacked a little bit of the magic for me. Jennifer Lawrence is a babe (I wish she'd keep her hair dark in real life. But somewhere, someone probably thinks that about me and I refuse to give in, too). Josh Hutcherson is not, much to my dismay, but he did a good Peeta so I'll cut him some slack. Fuck, I'm shallow. Anyway, all that being said, I'd still gladly accompany anyone who hasn't yet seen it but would like to and doesn't want to go alone like I did. As long as they buy my ticket. As for the books, I'm currently about 70 pages in to the last one and am finding it a little dull, but I shall carry on. Oh, and I'm on Team Peeta. I mean Peeniss. Okay.

It feels good to have something to fangirl over.

  1. I love that top. And you know what else I love? You. I also super love your hair dark. But maybe that's because I need to cling onto other people who dyed their hair dramatically. But I think blonde is very you. Would you ever go dark again, do you think?
    Anyway, I miss you.

  3. I enjoy looking normal-sized on the rare occasions that it happens. I'm so used to looking up at everyone that it's nice to be on their eye level for a change.

  4. Great outfit as usual. I wish she'd keep her hair dark too. It looks so good on her! As for you, I like your current hair a lot.

Hunger Games: I've only read the first book. While I really enjoyed it, I had no desire to read the second or third books. I thought they did a grand job with the film adaptation (and I DO NOT UNDERSTAND why people think Josh is hot, though. Really? Really?).

  7. LOVE THIS LOOK. Yep I put it in caps. I am not yelling at you. I just love this look THAT MUCH. Ok, now I'm just being obnoxious.

Anyway, those pants are like perfect on you, seriously. The lace top is gorgeous and I'm loving your arm candy. And nothing wrong with loving your bag that much. I'm in love with mine (from the vlog) at the moment too. It's rare for my love affair to be this long with a bag.

Yay Hunger Games! Of the three, the third book is actually my least favorite, but it's necessary. If that makes sense.

  8. I DESPISED the movie- maybe because I read the book first (which was amazing) but I thought the character casting was off (except Gale, he was dreamy), they didn't seem like starving kids from District 12 and it didn't keep me interested. Ok enough complaining about Hunger Games, you look stunning- this is my kind of casual outfit, sky high heels and colourful jewellery!

  9. Love the white top with the trousers. They look chambray, are they? I saw a pair at American Apparel, i was going to buy them yesterday but thought I could get a better deal elsewhere. Sadly we don't have a J Crew yet but we'll be getting one this summer, one of the first in Canada yay!

I haven't read Hunger Games nor have I seen the movie and I don't think I will. It sounds like it wouldn't be my "thing."

yes, the books were better than the movie and i still say if you didn't read the books first, you were probably gypped by the movie

  15. I wish I could give you some of my height...I'm close to hitting my head on the door frame in 5 inch heels. Love the top and keep on with the bag.

  16. I love that heels make me almost as tall as most people :) It would be even better if I could hide them under pants like this. I have such a long torso.

I read The Hunger Games and was expecting not to like it, but I actually thought it was really well done. I appreciate it without really loving it (I have some really obsessed friends), you know? I haven't seen the film yet... not sure if I will.

  17. This top is so magical. On you, it alchemically creates special feminine beauty.

We like hearing your views on cultural events. Keep reportin' 'em as you see 'em.

  18. I know what you mean by the movie lacking a certain something. I mean, they didn't do a bad job, it just felt maybe a little, diluted? And what was with the shaky cam shots during the games. In my mind when the shaky cam is used that is supposed to give the viewer this feeling that an actual person is holding the camera, or that they themselves are right in the action. But the games were supposed to be this glamorized form of entertainment for the people of the capitol. They would want to feel detached, so that seemed like an odd choice to me.

  19. Your photos are gorgeous. And I like the feminine/sportiness of your outfit.

I have zero interest in the Hunger Games. Or Twilight. I think I'm missing some girl pop-culture gene. :)

  21. oh em gee. GO BACK TO THE DARK HAIR! It looks fabulous! I say that but deep down inside, I want to go blonde. I'm just jelly. Totes agree with JL and her dark hair though. She looks smashing with it. And Josh Hutcherson as a blonde is DREAMY. Like a bacon cheeseburger with no calories kind of dreamy. The third book is the DULLEST one of the series, fo sho. But read on. Team Peeniss forever.

  22. First of all, you look amazing. And really tall!

Secondly, Hunger Games books, Peeta is annoying and a pain in the ass and holding everyone back in every single book. He's like, "Ow, I'm hurt", or "I'm insane now", or "Oh no I'm hurt again...carry me?"

So, I'm team Katniss only. Second and third books were like, meh, for me.

  25. Oh my goodness, you do look tall! Supermodel status! (: How tall are you without those shoes? I'm sure you're not as much of a midget as I am. I'm five feet and a quarter of an inch and proud of it. By the way, you do look stunning as a brunette. But you're a beautiful blonde too, so do what you want.
