I have entered what I like to refer to as my "Fat Elvis stage" (except there's no divorce or barbiturates). I'm lazy. I'm uninspired. I'm pudgy. I'm in need of a hair cut. I really do attribute it to the time of year. I'm tired of the winter scenery. I want to see mountains again, Gandalf! Not this dead of winter shit. But I am in the process of finalizing my trip to Arizona at the end of March, so that's something. And I just bought a new romper, so there's another.
I have a plan: I'm going to spend all day tomorrow and the weekend doing homework. Nuttin'. But. Homework. And because I'm going to do nuttin' but homework, I'm going to get ahead in my class. And then, next week and the week after, I'll be doing nuttin' but having fun, because all of my homework will already be done. Genius, right? That's what I thought.
Shirt: Old Navy
Bag: Fossil
Shoes: Minnetonka
Oh I hear you - this landscape is so depressing! Especially down here in the cities, it's wet and gross, I want green grass and flowers!
ReplyDeleteI do like your scarf!!
Well your "Fat Elvis stage" is a trillion times better looking than Elvis's own "Fat Elvis stage."
ReplyDeleteI wish I could force myself into that sort of plan! I can try, I mean I have. But do I follow through? Rarely. Brilliant idea though. xx
For a "Fat Elvis stage", you still look great! Need to do that whole homework-cramming thing myself. Terribly behind in everything. Having missed the last two day's worth of classes won't help. Been having some shit going down health wise. Super fun.
ReplyDeleteI'm in New Mexico! If the boyfriend and I are driving to California around the time you're over there, maybe we could grab lunch. (Something tells me coordinating that would be a nightmare!)
I agree, it's brilliant.
ReplyDeleteI know how you feel... it's time to move on and get to spring.
Chic on the Cheap
Despite this "Fat Elvis" stage of yours, you still look hot as ever. And you're wearing a cute shirt and carrying a lovely bag. I know how you feel about the whole winter thing though. Lately I've been skipping the tights and wearing short skirts with bare legs. I guess I'm trying to fool myself into thinking the weather is nicer. But then I look down at my legs covered in goosebumps bigger than my breasts, and I remember it's still winter. Dreadful, really. I like your homework plan. I seriously need to do that. Starting tomorrow. Or the next day.

Love this outfit, and I think you are none of the above :p
ReplyDeleteAnd I really enjoyed your Lord of the Rings reference <3

Ashley, you look great! Seriously! I can understand being uninspired though. I feel like working with kids all day leaves little room for looking cute and thinking about outfit ideas... I'm looking forward to summer when I can wear what I want :)

The bleakness of Winter certainly has an effect on our moods. Spring will perk you up.
ReplyDeleteLove the Elvis reference. Have you tried his favorite sandwich yet? Peanut butter, bananas and bacon. No kiddin'; you can look it up.
pffft fat elvis never looked even a tiny bit as cute as you. It's the winter, it makes me feel like a chubby little midget baby. But you're gorgeous and planning your trip will definitely help perk things up. And spring will come!!! And oh how I love denim and leopard print together
ReplyDeleteHappy belated heart day to you too :D

good luck in clearing out your homework! it'll be so worth it in the end to finish them first!
ReplyDeleteElvis wished he looked as good as you. Good luck with all your homwework.

ReplyDeletei kind of am in that stage as well..

I definitely know what you mean - this time of year sucks. I think we are all at our pudgiest. But new rompers and trips to warm places are awesome! And so is this cute outfit. Good luck with the homework :)

The Other Side of Gray

fat Elvis stage perfectly describes my state as well. I dont even want to get my haircut cause I know the stylist is going to judge me for having so many split ends.
ReplyDeleteUgh, tell me about it. Even though this winter has been considerably mild, I'm so over it! Give me sunshine, bare legs, pretty dresses! I'm hoping to plan a warm weather trip in the spring too :)
ReplyDeleteThe lighting in this photo is so pretty! I think I already told you, but I'm kind of jealous of your snow. I was feeling really uninspired for a while, but I've noticed a definite lengthening of the amount of time the sun is out lately, so I think I've been perking up!
ReplyDeletesuch a great photo :-)
ReplyDeleteLoveee your scarf! <3

The uninspired bug has been making its rounds lately. I got bitten and now EH. But I don't have homework to keep my busy. I just have video games. Which doesn't help me become a genius like you. Oh well.

You aint nothin but a hound dog, cryin all the time...you aint never caught a rabbit and you aint no friend of mine(hips gyrating) That is my best Elvis impression that I have for you. I am going to Elvis' Fat Camp in the Spring, myself. You are funny and gorgeous...still. dawn suitcase vignettes xo
ReplyDelete"Not this dead winter shit!" Haha! Perfect statement and I couldn't agree more. I'm ready for a little change. I want to be able to ride my bike outside without wearing three layers of clothing. I want to be able to go outside without being uncomfortable.
ReplyDeleteYour homework idea is genius. I did that with Spanish and lemme tell you, it paid off. You get that homework done, gurl. You get it.
But hey, even with the wintry blues gettin' us down, you still look fabulous. I love that scarf and your messanger bag is adoralbe!
Did I ever mention how amazing your photos are?! Well, here it is. Seriously love em. And why are you in this depressed "fat elvis stage"?! Haha because clearly I don't understand the "fat" part of it :)
ReplyDeleteYou look spectacular with that denim button-down! Cheer up, Ashley! And enjoy your homework beauty!
