Another day, another pair of colored tights (actually, these might be the same green tights I wore a few posts ago. I own so goddamn many I can't tell). I decided it might be time to start dressing more season appropriate, so I thought I'd wear a long sleeve dress instead of a short sleeve one. Except I don't actually own a long sleeve dress (I'm pretty sure I'm not joking), so I borrowed this one from my etsy store pile. I'm so not into the non-revealing neckline, but I guess that's how they did it back in the early 90s. Personally, I just don't quite feel myself if I'm not showin' off some cleave.
Thanks for all your thoughtful comments on my last post. I appreciate it! The surgery still hasn't been scheduled yet despite it being an emergency situation, but it could be as early as Wednesday. Eek.
In other news, my hair is at that awkward stage again, concerning both color and cut. What to do, what to do!
Dress: Vintage Liz Claiborne (for sale here)

I looooove this. The color palette is perfect! Also, your eyeshadow looks gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteYour hair suits you perfectly...gorgeous. That second photo of you is really stunning. I am checking your etsy. Dawn Suitcase Vignettes xo

LOVE! The belt, vest and boots are amazing!!
ReplyDeleteI'm the total opposite of you, I feel weird when you can see ANY cleavage...I like to be covered up, haha...still insecure and wishing I had my gymnastics chest aka NOTHING XD

I like the green tights with this outfit and Im in love with that vest.
ReplyDeleteLovely outfit.
ReplyDeleteI like the little touches you've made to your blog, very nice.
I think this a pretty dress, even with the high neckline! I love the buttons on the sleeve too. Hoping the surgery goes well when it does happen!
ReplyDeleteSuper Cute Fur Vest
ReplyDeleteoh those modest 90's gals... haha.
ReplyDeleteI think you've done it justice however, and very seasonally appropriate!
Chic on the Cheap
wow., great style., i love it.,
ReplyDeletehi ashley., can i exchange links with you.,? this my link : http://www.djawadreang.com/
Thank you
It's probably better if it's quicker, less time to stew about it!
ReplyDeleteI don't like non revealing necklines either and I don't have any cleave to be showin' off. There's something about a collarbone/clavicle area that is so flattering. However, this dress on you looks gorgeous, especially with the fur vest. And for someone who hates coloured tights, you're rockin them ;)
My hair is naturally wavy, but sometimes it's wacky so I curl pieces that piss me off

I'm the opposite - to wear a revealing neckline takes a lot of thinking on my part!! BTW this dress looks lovely on you. Hoping everything works out for you mum....and you!
ReplyDeleteThis is a beautiful outfit. Head to toe perfection!
ReplyDeleteYou look great as always. Love the buttons on the sleeves and of course the fur vest!
ReplyDeleteThat vest is sick. Faux fur is basically my favourite thing ever.
ReplyDeleteYou look so elegant-I just love everything about this outfit- even if you're not showing some cleave (which I did this weekend-eeek!) I have the exact same colour green tights-love!
ReplyDeleteYour beauty and stylish choices always inspire me, both in fashion and life.
ReplyDeletei love that you pair a fur vest with a pretty long sleeve dress literally beautiful!

ReplyDeleteLove this dress, i love the slight pattern which I can just see and the details on the sleeve. Gorgeous. I hate it when hair is at that awkward length, I always find it's my fringe to get the awkward length first, the bit where it starts catching on my glasses and then flicking out the side and I was think... I could just grow it out... and then suddenly I've cut it again!

your boots. incredible.

Nice outfit, I like the green tights and those boots! I feel weird if my chest is all covered up too, but sometimes it's nice to do something different, and this dress looks great! Also, keeping your mom in my prayers. :)

I've been telling my family to pray for you and your mom at dinnertime. I wish you the best! And you still look beautiful. I guess it's NOT just your cleavage that makes you so darn attractive! And I totally know what you mean about the hair. I'm considering getting extensions, at least for prom. I want pretty hair at prom, not awkward hair.

ReplyDeletelove colored tights! I too have so many I can't keep track of which I wore last. I say bah humbug to long sleeves :)
ReplyDeletere your mom's surgery. It's gonna be tough but I'm sure you guys will do great. My sister had to have back surgery in May, they told her she may never have normal use of one of her legs. She's doing great! Fully functional and active again! THink positive thoughts, take it all one day {sometimes minute} at a time :)
plus your bloggy friends are here for support :)
Love this outfit! The dress is beautiful, and the fur vest is so lovely with it. (and it also works so well with your background scenery, haha)
ReplyDeleteI hope and pray that your mom's surgery goes well!
