The Red Beret

I really don't mean to pimp out my new Etsy shop as much as I do (I swear!). It just happens. I find a lot of items that I don't really need, but would enjoy having the pleasure of wearing at least once. Just like this skirt. Because I need a step stool to reach things on the top shelf (that's my cute way of saying I'm a shortie. Not to be confused with a shawty), I don't think it does too much for me. But hey, it's kind of a cute outfit, in that I'm-on-my-period-and-just-want-to-eat-chocolate-and-mope way. Very Aunt Flo chic.

And plus, everyone loved my beret, including some guy who used to work at a Renaissance Fair and some other guy who told me I reminded him of Monica Lewinsky. Um. Thanks.

Sweater: American Eagle
Skirt: Vintage! Buy that shit up at my shop! YEAH!
Beret: Forever 21
Earrings: You can buy those too!

  1. I actually have an olive-ish green version of that beret! I don't think it's from F21, but they look pretty much the same. I tend to avoid hats because I have a huge head as it is, and I'm told that they make my nose look big. Total sadness.

As a girl who doesn't spend over $5 on any single clothing item except shoes, I'm not the best person to sell clothes to. I'm terrible, I know! :P

  2. Hee hee! I used to wear a beret in high school all the time. Of course I got many references to Prince's Raspberry Beret song.

I think your hat is really cute! Kayla wears hers (its gray) and people say she looks like Selena Gomez, lol. Heather

  20. you look so cute in the red beret. The skirt is a great find too, but I am also a shortie and I cannot pull of these kind of items. I hope you're not feeling too PMS-y. Eat that chocolate. Eat it all. x

  21. It is a kind of cute outfit, and for a moment you had me dreaming of crunching through autumnal leaves back home in Canada... sigh... in a beret.

  23. This look is so inspiring! You look totally gorg in that beret paired with an off-the-shoulder top and matching retro earrings. I could see this paired with a leather miniskirt and heels for a night on the town.

  28. No. Definitely not Monika Lewinski! I love this outfit, very chic and kind of reminds me a little bit of '90's grunge. (You were probably just a baby during that time!)
