Excuse my recent dead-ness. I've been busy finishing up my summer class, and it's hard, yo. I figured out I can only miss 8 points (out of like, 200 and something) on my assignments and tests in order to get an A. The pressure is on. I promise promise promise I will catch up on your blogs soon!
Since I blogged last, a series of unfortunate events occurred:
- I missed the blogger meet up on Saturday because my car took a big dump in unfamiliar territory. By the time it got fixed, it was pretty late. So I drove home.
- I'm pretty sure I have shin splits. I'm going to ditch the Converse and buy me some real walking shoes.
- I'm also pretty sure I have ovary rot. No details on that one.
- I feel like, as a 21 year old, I shouldn't be saying this, but this humidity is making my joints ache like a son of a bitch.
- I accidentally bought two copies of the same book.
I also applied for a job at Starbucks (don't major in sociology, friends) and dyed half my hair turquoise.
Dress: UO
Boots: Steve Madden
What an exciting news! But you know what who cares if you look SO gorgeous! :) Love that dress! ;) And you hair looks fun! I can't wait to see how the color changes with time! :)
ReplyDeleteoh my gosh! i adoree the dress. the lace is gorgeous....and you hair looks awesome!
ReplyDeletesorry to hear about your unfortunate events, hope things are getting better ;)
Your hair looks AWESOME!! I want mine like it too!! And your dress is so pretty =) All these unfortunate events seem to happen at once don't they?! Hope things will get better soon =D

Your hair is divine--and so are you in that dress.
ReplyDeleteFor shin splits: I had these when younger and had to go to a sports doctor (my cheerleading coach made us run 2 miles every practice--and running on shin splits was so shitty). His recipe for getting rid of them, which worked:
1) eat lots of bananas (potassium)
2) tie a cord around a small weight that allows you to use it with your toes. Bring your toes (and the weight) up. This will help you develop the shin muscles, balancing the greater development of the calves.
3) Wrap your lower legs in towels when sleeping--it helps the joints, too.
I still do 2 and 3 when needed. It really helps!
Oh no! I am so sorry you missed the meetup due to car troubles. I would have loved to meet you. Dont worry, there was some talk of a clothing swap next time!
ReplyDelete(love love LOVE the lace dress)
Allison
Your lace dress is lovely, and I like how the boots toughen up this outfit a little bit.
ReplyDeleteI've never bought two copies of the same book (on purpose) but I have many times accidentally rented a movie I've already seen before (and not really liked that much the first time around).
Good luck with your class. I'm sure you'll pull that A.
You will get an A, I just know it. Good luck, sweetie.
ReplyDeleteI love love love your dress and your hair and omg, those boots. You look stunning and gorgeous.

The dress is so gorgeous it could be my wedding dress (if longer, cause I have chubby thighs!). But really... wow! Love the blue hair! Like Tracy said, you'll get an A for sure (I know you're tough!). I'm so sorry for your health issues - I'm kind of lost in translation with medical stuff... I hope they're not to painful and you'll be yourself in no time! Love and kisses dear friend!
ReplyDeleteLOVE that dress!!! And oy...sounds like there is some ickyness going on in your life, I'm sure it will get better though :D

ReplyDeleteSometimes I'm dumb and forget to look at pictures and go right to reading the posts. Hello backwards blogger? Hah. I was gonna be all, show me your hair! And then I read the comments and surprise, it's there. And I love it! Great look. Good luck with your course! And your rotting ovaries.
ReplyDeleteYou endlessly crack me up lady. First off, you look smashing in that dress with blue hair.
ReplyDeleteSecondly, sounds like a shitty week. Starbucks doesn't have to be all bad though. a) free coffee, and b) my sister works there and has had a great time being a shit-disturber and organizing the first ever union at Starbucks. ; )
sorry you didn't make it to the meet up
ReplyDeletehope your car is back to normal now and no major costs were involved
love the lace and boots and the hair makes it that much cooler

I really thought the dress was vintage. it looks so ethereal and beautiful. What book do you have two copies of? Is it a good read?
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear about your bad week, hopefully things will get better. :) I love your hair, the color is awesome! (I wish I could put a little fun color in my hair but I don't think I can because I'm working in an elementary school soon...damn dress code!) Adorable dress too!
ReplyDeleteP.S. About the NYX lip stuff: I usually wear it alone, sometimes with a pink gloss over it, but I've found it stays on better/longer by itself. :)
Sounds like an interesting week; sorry you missed the meet up and that a part of you is rotting.
ReplyDeleteI worry that all of me is rotting sometimes.
Love the lace dress though!
Chic on the Cheap

Ugh, that so sucky about missing the meetup, but at least your car is mostly ok and hopefully there'll be another one soon! Good luck finishing up your class- I'm sure you'll do well. Also, I'm glad I'm not the only one out there with achy joints, I feel like such an old lady sometimes!
ReplyDeletestar-crossed smile
what a gorgeous dress and it fits you perfectly! love the combination of the lace and the boots, it creates a more bold effect! gorgeous color BTW
ReplyDeleteHey, this dress looks gorgeous Ashley, I'm a great fan of lace!
ReplyDeleteAah I think I have shin splints too, whenever I go to the gym too much they hurt like crazy, my mum keeps nagging me to buy a proper pair of walking shoes... I may just have to cave soon.
Hope you do well in your exams good luck.

Ugh, I'm sorry. It's no fun when everything just manages to go wrong. On the bright side, I do love the new hair! It looks great with the dark brown. And that dress is beautiful -- I've been looking FOREVER for a nice white lace dress that doesn't cost a fortune, but still haven't had much luck! Yours is fantastic though. Good luck in your class, you'll be fine!

ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, you poor dear! D: Surely things will get better! I'm sorry, I am horrible at comforting people! Let's focus on the good things: Your hair looks freakin' awesome! You pull it off so well. And that dress is beyond beautiful. Such pretty lace! You look gorgeous as ever, despite your bad week!
ReplyDeleteBy the way, I am so flattered that you added our blog to your blogroll! To be listed among names like "Karla's Closet" and "Cupcakes and Cashmere" is unbelievable. I mean, holy crap, thank you so much!

Love that dress, I almost thried on the brown version at UO...
ReplyDeleteAnd shin splints are the worst. They destroy your entire motivation to move and do things that are good for you. As does humidity, for that matter.

ReplyDeleteThis dress is adorable and fresh.
