Saved by the Belle

For some reason, brown hair and floral prints remind me of Tiffani Thiessen circa the early 90's. I suppose you could classify that as irrelevant information, but you know what? It's not, goddammnit. It's completely pertinent. It's the method behind my madness. I saw this floral tank top in my closet, and then I remembered my newly dyed hair, and decided to go for yet another 90's-esque look (remember last February?). And then I did a little dance and made my boyfriend take pictures of me and my really old looking face. Do you see crow's feet? Because I do. But you know what? It's okay, because my face doesn't look old all the time. It only looks old when I don't get enough sleep. Like the night before these pictures were taken. Snoring and sleep-talking boyfriends are not conducive for a homegirl's beauty sleep. Believe me, I know. "I GOT 'EM!!!!!! I GOT 'EM!!!!!!" *sleep gurgle* "GIVE, GIVE, GIVE ME THE CONTROLLER!!!!!" *snore*

  3. You look so amazing! You pull off the dyed look so beautifully!

And I LOVE your sense of humour so much! I snorted with laughter reading about your boyfriend's sleep-talking! I do hope my future husband will give me peaceful sleep. :) Or I might just kick him off the bed.

  7. What crow's feet are you talking about?!? Btw, I do like your take on the 90's though I don't quite remember the decade to be so fashionable haha (except the Spice Girls. They were always cool.)

  10. At least your face doesn't look old all the time. Mine does. But it's because I'm actually old. Your face NEVER does, btw. And I know you aren't fishing for a compliment. It's one of the many things that I love about you. You just say what you feel in the moment. I hope I can be like you when I grow up.

I have to say that I think the darker hair is a keeper. It's so amazing with your features. And that green cardi just brightens it all up. Even more than the floral.

    xoxo,
    Tracy

  20. I can totally see the influence, and you rock this look.
And no, you dont look old here, or anywhere.

You know what else is not completely irrelevant - like one week to the white collar premier aka tiffani all grown up. haha.

  22. That is funny - but you still don't look old, Ashley. If that's old then I'd better stop blogging!

  23. What, aren't you like 21 or something? Don't talk to me about crow's feet!

On the other hand, I love the 90s look. I was pretty much oblivious in the 90s, but I go love this florally, grungy revival. : )

Brown hair are very nice, I'm starting to get used to you (it doesn't mean I wasn't confused not to recognize you at the first place).

  28. I have some catching up to do
I click on after a long weekend and you are now a brunette!
I so get the lack of beauty sleep
Husband is a #1 snore, noise making, talking in his sleep kind of guy.
I think we have made it all these years because he travels so much LOL
I totally get the TAT reference and you are on spot with it

  29. Haha, that totally reminds me of my husband when he sleeps, except he doesn't quite get to articulate a word, he just mumbles, and instead of saying that he's got the controller he just punches me in the face. In his sleep. Totally awesome. And I can't tell you how much that contributes to my beauty sleep, which then contributes to me looking like a train ran me over like 10 times, set me on fire and put out with a baseball bat. Pure awesomeness.

I love this outfit, I love your hair. I like the jeans too, I actually have a pair like that, except mine have holes in the crotch area, how awesome is that? only thing I can say is that I am happy that I am not a guy, otherwise things would be hanging out. ( I love how I analyze things ) The whole 90's vibe is pure awesomeness. I need a cardigan -sigh-

  34. Ha ha, if I remember correctly florals didn't exist in the 90s - it was all clean cuts, clean colours and a heroin chic... But maybe I just don't remember it right. Lack of sleep suits you wonderfully, and a little wrinkle just shows life experience.

  35. Yes, this is a totally 90's esque outfit! I love it. The 90's may be one of my favorite decades for inspiration. Awesome tank top and ripped jeans! http://thearcenciel.blogspot.com/

  37. You do 90's-esque looks better than anyone I know! I love the floral top with that dark green cardigan and your bright nails, and like I said before, your dark hair looks fantastic! :D Lol, and the sleep-talking sounds terrible- maybe a little love pat when he talks will help him pipe down? ;)

  38. I love your new hair! The shade is absolutely perfect!
And thank you for reminding me about the 90's! ;) My confusing teenage years. :))
Oh, and I love your shoes! Totally my cup of tea!

  39. Ah, I love the throwback to one of my favorite shows from back in the day! :) The top reminds me of a floral babydoll dress that I totally thought I rocked in the 90s...I still have it, and this makes me want to try it on!

My hubs is a snorer and sleep talker too...but next time, see if you can have some fun with it! When he starts talking, ask him random, crazy questions and see what sort of nonsense you can get him to ramble about. I've had conversations with my sleeping husband before that were highly entertaining. One time he mumbled something about "Mr. September," and I have NEVER let him live that one down!! hahaha I used to do the same thing with my mom, and once she told an entire story in her sleep about going out to the barn to feed the chickens.

  40. I love the floral top! And yes, florals remind me of the '90's too, especially Blossom, did you ever watch that show? You probably weren't even born when it was on! ha ha.

I answered all your questions about Phoenix in the comment section on my blog.

Oh, and you do NOT have crow's feet!
