Florida, Part II (I'm original, aren't I?)

* I know someone is going to ask, so I'll save you the effort and just tell you: the second picture is a shot of wood. Yeah. I like texture. And I'm odd. So I take pictures of wood. Rock on.

I bought this dress back in my big girl days when I had more junk in that trunk than I do now. Yeah grrrrrl! I remember hating it and never wearing it because it barely covered my area. But now, of course, I've fallen in love with it, want to make sweet love to it, and would eat our first born child for another one in a different color. Too bad they stopped selling them two years ago.

I found this scarf on sale for only $6, so naturally I swooped it up because hello! It's an animal print. Momma loves a little animal print in her life. I'm actually wearing it right now and it still smells like Florida. Yes, Florida has a smell. Has anyone else noticed that? It's one of those smells that is actually kind of gross, but you're so intrigued that you have to keep on sniffing. It's like a mix of mustiness and murkiness, with a little bit of sweat thrown in. Mmm mmm. I'm down.

* UO, if you're out there, why don't you just sponsor me already. I already sold my soul to you years ago, anyway

  3. You look adorable, as usual. And love the comic writing.

I take pictures of wood all the time. It ages and weathers so beautifully that it's a great subject for visual recording.

  9. I don't know about Florida but every place smells differently. I guess that's the first thing I check when I get out of the airport - the smell. Be it Kenya, Mauritius, Istanbul or Paris. But I have a very good sense of smell, so, it's not a surprise. :) Sometimes I even feel like Jean-Baptiste Grenouille in Patrick Süskind's Perfume actually. And it's freaking me out. LOL

  10. I've never been to Florida, but I can imagine it smells a lot like Cuba (the Floridians might not be too happy to hear that though). ; S

You look gorgeous, I love that grey dress! I love rediscovering the potential in things I used to hate. ; )

  12. Haha! I'd sponsor you!

I do notice that certain places have a smell and we associate memories with those smells. Like listening to Death Cab for Cutie brings back the smell of a particular winter. Strange.

  13. Oh that dress is awesome. I have a thing for grey anything, like a BIG thing for grey.

I am not sure I can pull of the animal print myself, (must be cause most people think I am like 15 years old when I am (SO) not, so I kinda look like a kid trying to wear her mom's stuff, kinda like trying to be an adult way before time sort of thing) yeah, it's.. (not) sorta fun.

But anyways I love it on you and it gives your outfit a touch of "rawr", you know, the sexy kind of rawr :)
