Desert Rose

Fact: I am a horrible speller. I've had to correct "dessert" to "desert" about a million times already. Although a dessert rose sounds pretty goddamn good right now. Not like I haven't already had my dessert today. At 2 p.m. Butter pecan ice cream in Tombstone. And I might just have a second dessert in a few minutes, because I'm on vacation and it's still my birthday week. Neener neener.

I only packed one pair of sunglasses, which is why I've been wearing these every day recently. They're from Urban Outfitters. I picked them up before we left town and have barely taken them off. They were like, $10 and seem to go with just about anything...can't go wrong with that! The close-up shot is a picture of my earrings on a piece of wood.

Dress: Free People
Leather jacket: Doma
Sunglasses: UO
Earrings: My Grandma's
Boots: Jeffrey Campbell

  1. Nothing wrong with a $10 pair of sunnies. Or the gorgeous colours of the dress you have on.

  8. The print on your dress is beautiful! The color is so pretty and the details at the top are nice! & adding the black jacket was pretty much genius! & those sunglasses are so pretty, the shape of them remind me of the 50s.

  9. Your earrings make look at the photo again and again... I'm so fond of that feeling (I guess that's one the reasons I started looking through style blogs).

  14. Everyone confuses dessert with desert but usually when they're talking about post-prandial delights.

You look adorable in this cute dress. The contrast of the bright floral design against the aridity of the dessert (oops!) is attractive.

  24. You look amazing - I hope your vacation is relaxing and fun. It looks so warm and sunny there, I"m so jealous. It's cold and rainy here. And I was going to ask what that metal thing on wood was, but you explained it - I did think it was your earring, but I just wasn't sure!

P.S. I also love cheap sunglasses from UO! I have like three pairs

  34. Aahh, I can never remember that either - same with lose (or loose and choose...) It's good to see you enjoying the Arizona sun in a short dress.

  35. Everytime I see your pictures I am impressed. You are so natural and able to give to a simple piece of cotton a great style.
The dress perfectly fits you, I really love it.
I am very happy to know your blog and I hope I'll learn more about you the next months. For me you really have an artist view.

  36. I love those sunglasses, they go perfectly with your dress. x

  37. The sunglasses are so retro chic, I totally adore them. Even better they were inexpensive *lol*
Your outfit is so cute, the combination of rock chick (the jacket) with innocent girliness (the dress) is very appealing :-)

Oh no, I think you're not weird, I know actually quite a lot of people who are afraid of snakes & lizards - & we don't even have any of them here because of the colder climate.

I'm terrified of escalators *lol* It started all of a sudden about 3 years ago, I'm always thinking I might fall down backwards. It's a real problem because escalators are almost everywhere. Too silly of me, but I can't overcome that fear *sigh*

    I'm following back!
Wishing you a great weekend :-)

  39. Those sunglasses are amazing!

I too constantly mess up desert and dessert. They are difficult words - I think we need a new word for "desert" because it is just way too suspiciously close to dessert when they are so opposite.

  40. I love that you're not afraid to own up to being a horrible speller. Also, love this short dress and roughing up with the jacket thing you have going on here.

Your recent comment has made me realize how much I missed your intelligent chit-chat. Also, your outfits make me miss fashion bloggingz.
