Happy Valentine's Day! I know it's just a commercial holiday, and I'm probably the first person you'd expect to bad mouth commercial holidays, but there's something about Valentine's Day that makes me happay. This year, the Hello Kitty surprise my boyfriend put together for me made my day. Hello Kitty chocolates...Hello Kitty trading cards...Hello Kitty stuffed animals...a Hello Kitty Nintendo DS game (I think it's for ages 7-12, but what the hell)..and a Hello Kitty popcorn tin. Yeah, I'm a Hello Kitty freak. My obsession actually started out as a joke, but recently I've developed a real, serious love for the kitteh. I managed to stay away from the Hello Kitty Sephora goodies, though, so it's not that bad.
In other news, it's warm as feck here (well...warm as feck for February, anyways) and I couldn't be happier.

I think everyone secretly love Valentines day, I don't agree with the spending heaps on money. But spreading the love and spending it with your love ones... how can that be wrong?

ReplyDeleteRandom: I went to Catholic school, so I never really got to celebrate Valentine's day as a kid (I mean, we did the Valentines thing, but then we would watch a video about St. Valentine, who was sentenced to death by the Romans, so kind of a downer). Now that I am not under the watchful eye of the Vatican, I find Valentine's day surprisingly refreshing.

I know what you mean about it being so hard to keep working towards equality when it seems like certian groups would prefer to not have it since they claim such an "advantage." Its so frustrating. Men catcalling is disgusting, I get so grossed out by it!!! Men of any race! It is sad that the police couldn't really do anything once she pulled the race card, but I see what a tough bind they were in now.
