This is almost a carbon copy of how high school Ashley dressed (except back then, I was still rockin' the blonde hair). I've had the skirt (which I realize I've been wearing an awful lately, despite supposedly hating it), the vest, and the bracelets since I've been 17. Always good to know you can still fit into clothes you wore in high school, although that's not really saying that much, considering I was at least 30 lbs heavier during part of my high school years (don't worry: I didn't get the skirt until after I dropped the weight).
Unfortunately, I don't have anything to blog about that I haven't mentioned a million times already. I'm still excited for my March trip to Arizona. I'm still tired of this cold weather. I'm still in the process of losing the 10 lbs I mentioned last post, and I haven't made any amusing slip-ups to report here. I'm still trying to save up money, so no new purchases to discuss (although, for the record, I did spend $33 on gasoline the other day, and $3.16 at the post office). I'm quite a boring person at the moment, actually. Boring, but cute.
What's going on in your world? Are you all as boring as I am right now?
Top, backpack, and bracelets: Target
Vest: Guess
Skirt & wedges: Urban Outfitters
I don't think you sound boring at all - and the skirt is really cute. I'm out of high school too, but I'd pile on heaps of those colored bracelets ASAP. They're fab!!
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend,
Carrie
I love and want all of your accessories! That bag is too cute!
ReplyDeleteSometimes it's nice not to be busy and having the time to actually BREATHE. Have a great (boring or non-boring) weekend!
Gorgeous outfit! <3
ReplyDeleteI love that backpack!!
ReplyDeleteand ick on the gas...I have to buy gas today...EEEEW! XD

I love that you've brought back this stuff you used to wear in high school! Also, it's so funny how we wear items we say we don't like- I have this striped shirt that makes me look like a prison inmate that I usually never wear but have worn twice this week! And hey, you are never boring and I like hearing little updates, even when they're not about anything major! :D Also, thanks for sending Sabine my way- her machine knitting class sounds so interesting!
ReplyDeleteI had a backpack exactly like that in highschool! Way to pay tribute to your highschool self. I mostly wore baggy men's jeans and plaid shirts in highschool- not so sure that would look cute these days.
ReplyDeleteAre you as beautiful in school back then? I hope not because that will make you too perfect!
ReplyDeleteMy world is boring right now because i feel a cold coming and that instantly sucks the happiness out of anyone :)
i want that backpack, i have no need for a backpack, but i want yours!
ReplyDeletedon't think of it as boring, think of it as resting up for a great Arizona adventure.
just cold, cold rain here
i just want to put on sweats, crawl into bed with my electric blanket and read a good book
haha...."boring but cute". i feel ya! ive barely left the house since our blizzard. wayyy too much time has been spent online! :s
ReplyDeleteyay for saving money! boo for expensive gas.
I don't know why, but you remind of Amanda Seyfreid in Little Red Riding Hood =P Even though you aren't wearing anything red. You're so mysterious =)
ReplyDeleteI actually really like this outfit and I seriously want a backpack like that!
ReplyDeleteAnd you know what, I was so right about the red hair on you. Every time I see a picture I'm just like DAMN. haha You're gorgeous.
I can also assure you I'm plenty more boring.
That vest might be old, but it's perfect. It reminds me of something I considered get a few weeks ago--from Vivienne Westwood. Clearly I think you've got great style.
ReplyDeleteHey girl! Love your bag, so cool! I did get my shoes in the past year, they're "Melin" by Steven. They also have a style called "Melanee" that looks really similar without the laces. I think both are on 6pm.com right now.
ReplyDeleteI'm actually from Massachusetts (we usually get a lot of snow but this year is beyond anything we've had in a long time), but my brother is moving to MN this month!
wow! you look like doll!!! nice picts! :))
ReplyDeleteI don't blog when I have nothing valuable to report but maybe I can learn a lesson from you (again).
ReplyDeleteMy blogger-buddies have become REAL friends of mine and I care about them (including you). I like hearing news of their lives, even when there is little going on. As a friend, I enjoy the communication.
Maybe I'll muster the courage to do what you just did: post tidbits which may not seem blog-worthy on the surface, but allow for friendly rapport. After all, we should give what we get!
totally love your skirt and bag, super beautiful

You are adorable in that little skirt....cute bag too!!!
ReplyDeleteStop by and say Hello:)
Check out my 30x30 Remix….Let’s do this!♥
Hi Ashley! Love your cute backpack! Yup, I do speak French - I teach French too, language and literature, I've always loved it, ever since I was little! Definitely go see Black Swan and give it the benefit the doubt, I'd be interested to know your reaction to it. I guess I really liked the subtlety of The Wrestler so was surprised how he'd suddenly disengaged from that approach.
ReplyDeleteyour blog is very cute!!:)
ReplyDeleteif you want you'll be my follower!!

Really pretty outfit! Love the skirt and backpack so much!:D
ReplyDeleteNo actually not haha, suddenly there is pretty much going on :D I visited my first fashion show, opened my first give-away and still have lots and lots to post and to do :P I'm actually quiet busy:P
♥
I love your look, especially the waistcoat with the skirt. You were clearly very stylish in high school, which is much more than could be said for me.
ReplyDeleteYou're not boring, you're just having a quiet week. If we all went flat out we would disintegrate. Make the most of your downtime (and your posts are interesting even when you don't have "news").
Cute backpack m'dear, btw you're totally rocking the red hair, it really suits you!
ReplyDeleteHope you have an awesome time in Arizona!
x
I love how you are rocking the skirt you once professed to not liking it- its fab! Those bracelets are beautiful as well. You go girl on your weight loss goal- you look phenomenal as you are though!
ReplyDeleteFrom someone who spent years trying to put on weight (yeah, I was that skinny) I'd say your ideal weight is the one you feel good and healthiest at. You look just right to me so don't worry too much about the 10lbs.
ReplyDeleteYou are SO cute in this outfit, and I love your pictures, they are really beautiful? What kind of camera are you using?? Thanks for your comment, Accutane is actually just superserious vitamin A. I've had really long discussions with friends who have battled their weight and we think its similar to having acne. You feel uncomfortable in your own body, its so hard to feel that way. But yea, the side effects are insane. Worth it, but insane haha.
ReplyDeleteThese pictures look like they belong in a magazine. So crisp and filled with wonderful color!
ReplyDeleteAnd if you can wear clothes from high school, I say go for it!
The Auspicious Life
Your comment MADE my day! Thanks so much for stopping by! I love your blog...you are beautiful! :)
ReplyDeleteI am definitely as boring (probably more boring) and I occasionally find myself in clothes I had in highschool as well. But hey, some of them are trendy again, and some I'm glad i got rid of and wont even have the temptation.
ReplyDeleteChic on the Cheap
how many hair comments do you get per hour? ninety two? forty eight? because it's seriously amazing. and I think this outfit looks totally adorable on you :)
ReplyDeletexoxo

DUDE you are a total BABE! seriously! so gorgeous! your hair blows my mind, and I love that backpack. Highschool favorites for the win!
ReplyDeleteLove this bag, outfit, and everything!
ReplyDeleteYou're really pretty!
I love this outfit. The skirt is great, I love the fullness of it. I still have quite a few clothes from when I was in high school too. I'll go through periods where I don't wear them, then I rediscover them and realize they are great again!
ReplyDeleteHey my fellow redhead friend!!!
ReplyDeleteI was thinking that same thing when I saw you were wearing this skirt that you had been trying to throw out a million times! That is some funny crap if you ask me!!
Dont throw it out though, you look much too hot in it!!
Esp as this sweet little school girl! LOL
LOVE YA!!
We all need a bit of boringness from time to time - it's necessary for the creative juices to flow (at least that's my conviction) and since when has shopping been exciting, anyway? Your teenage look is super-cute, no wonder you're wearing this skirt a lot.
ReplyDeletebeautiful outfit!!!i love your backpack!!
