This dress is part of a clothes swap, so it'll be off to another fabulous blogger in the next couple of days! I'm the first one to get it, so I can't show you how anyone else styled it, but I wore it backwards and with a denim vest. I can't wait to see how all ma other ladies wear it!
I also wore my gorgeous new Jeffrey Campbell boots! I got them from Free People, for more than 50% off their original price. I didn't even realize they were Jeffrey Campbell until they were delivered yesterday...that company owns my soul. Really.
The weather was so nice here today! Birds chirping. Sun shining. I almost went out without a coat, but decided against it since it's still quite nippy out. I hit up Savers again today and found a Pendleton duffle coat for $20 (and some other stuff...of course...). I'm going to wash it, clean it, delouse it, whatever, and debut it this weekend!

I'm really obsessed with dresses in that style at the moment. I love the sleeve length on you! It's such a great dress. You look lovely.
ReplyDeleteI agree that the sleeve length is perfect. I'm not a fan of cap sleeves or short sleeves. Anyway I can't really tell the dress is worn backwards! All I know is that this outfit has a hint of summer in it and the scarf made it even more so. So I guess this dress is part of the bloggerhood of the travelling dress then!
ReplyDeleteIm in love with those boots too!! We have a store in our Mall called "Manic Shoes"..I had a similar pair in my hand and put them down because the clerk was wayyyy too busy and I didnt feel like waiting, lol...I think Ill go back tomorrow and snag them....this is exactly how I vision wearing them...really great pics as always:)

Yay! I'm so happy to hear you're thrifting. It stimulates our creativity and expands our wardrobe at nominal cost.
ReplyDeleteI can't say no to half off JC either, and those look perfect for the current weather.
ReplyDeleteThe dress is cute and such a blank canvas, i'm sure all the looks will be so diverse!
Chic on the Cheap
I had been looking at that dress for awhile. It doesn't look too short on you but I think you and I established I'm like four inches taller than you so it would probably be "Say hello to Brianna's Ass" time in it...eek.
ReplyDeleteI don't know how your legs aren't black and blue from frost bite. It's like 10 degrees here. The polar bears can have their arctic winds and temps back!!!
Girl, you are brave going out in the snow with a dress on! More power to ya haha. Lovely shoes, I love the picture where they're slung over the branch by the laces.
ReplyDeleteu wore the dress backwards? that is so creative of u! doesn't even seem backwards to me!
ReplyDeleteLike the dress and love the denim waistcoat over it. Oh and as a newcomer to your blog, having just flicked through, how amazing is your hair!! Looked fab blonde and truly amazing red - jealous!!!
ReplyDeleteThose boots are perfect for winter! No slipping on ice!
ReplyDeleteYey, you got duffle coat now too! Welcome to the club! ;)
I looove this outfit! You look amazing xx
ReplyDeleteThose boots are aces and I look forward to seeing your duffel coat - post-treatment!I just bought a bunch of topnotch smelly stuff yesterday too.I'm treating an unexpected 'dry clean only' tag as 'probably okay to handwash a bit'.

great dress and you are so brave to face winter in such a spring outfit!

This outfit is cute! But omg girl, how are you out in the snow taking these pics with no coat on?!
ReplyDeleteI've abandoned outside pics here in uk for at least a month or 2 still and the snow is long gone, im just chicken!
I want your shoes!!! & love how you've photographed them.
Re. the comment on my blog, you are such a babe, i do not look that good haha. And yea i was thinking maybe a lip liner would help fix the red colour...
i think its mainly the lipstick im using is really soft (its actually called 'lip balm' with vitimin e and stuff), oh well, i'll manage!
xx
ahh. look at you, you stunning red head! Im officially jealous and going on the hunt for some henna.
ReplyDeleteI am also crushing on your Marc by Marc jacobs... style swap? I promise Ill give it back. (ah hem)

made me look like i was wearing a square denim box!
Aah thank you for your super sweet comment! I will keep you updated!!
ReplyDeleteYou look amazing (as always)! Totally love every piece!
Don't you get crazy of all this snow :O? I'm soo happy here is no more snow :P
♥
You always find creative ways to put together an outfit! I love your JC boots, they look pretty practical for winter, too.
ReplyDeletei feel like a mom for thinking/asking this....but what was on your feet while you took the pic of your shoes?!?!
ReplyDeleteYou look so great in this outfit. How cool is this clothes swap thing? I love this idea. What a score on those Jeffrey Campbell boots. Amazing. Love it.
ReplyDeleteYou asked me what I consider super sale. That skirt was originally 128 and i got it for 69. That's pretty good, I think. I mean, finding it for 14 would have been better, but I'm glad I bought it.
xoxo,
Tracy
sorry. one more thing. i love love love all your accessories you chose for this outfit. the vest, scarf, bracelet, bag and sunnies! LOVE
ReplyDeletexxxxxoooo
tracy
Gorgeous oufit! <3
ReplyDeleteI really adore your scarf! The whole outfit looks beautiful :)
ReplyDeletexxx
The shoes are an instant YESSS - love them! The denim vest more of a ??? which is a good thing because a) it looks great on you b) anything that makes you look twice is good in fashion and c) I haven't seen anything like this for a while = double good.
ReplyDeleteAnd beautiful pictures again!
This is so cute. Nice dress, the clothes swap idea sounds really interesting. How cool that you shook things up and wore it backwards. Great shoes and love the denim vest! http://thearcenciel.blogspot.com/
ReplyDeletelove the dress with the vest

I didn't get a chance to comment on your new hair, and I do love your blonde locks, but you still look gorgeous and lovely with your new color. And those J Campbell boots are to die for.
ReplyDeleteBy the way, all your photos of snow and an actual real winter wonderland is starting to make me resent the hot and sunny San Diego weather. And it doesn't help that the snow makes such a gorgeous backdrop to your photos, lol.
Sharon
A clothing swap, how fun! I think the dress is a great base like several people have said and I love the way you've styled it here with the vest and scarf. Also, yay for new boots on sale! :) Can't wait to see your Saver's coat find!
ReplyDeleteClothes swaps and secondhand clothes. You're a girl after my own heart. I love this look on you. But aren't your legs cold? You're much tougher than me.
ReplyDeleteLOOOOOOVE this.
ReplyDeleteGreat idea on the clothing swap. Will you post the blogs of the girls who are going to style it as well?
Thanks!

I love how chill and breezy these pictures are, and nice scarf you got! have a great weekend
ReplyDeleteabsolutely love this entire look! the boots are my favorite. i love how utilitarian and masculine they are, but how they're paired with such a feminine outfit.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely love how you styled it! It looks fab on you :)

I have no idea how I missed this post, but apparently, I did. It looks so cold out there. You really suffer for your art.
ReplyDeleteEverything shut down over here because the roads were iced over and I think the snow was knee high. A lady got killed by a snow plow and the roads were pretty treacherous. We got more storms acoming....
I bought Foucault's(?) book "Discipline and Punish", "All Just Glass" by Amelia Atwater-Rhodes (YA, but I grew up reading her stuff so it's nostalgia) and textbooks for school. I'm about as interesting as a doorknob. No Lauren Conrad books for me!
Love it paired with the vest. Will try and follow the clothes swap as it goes around.
ReplyDeleteThe outfit is great!
ReplyDeleteAnd I Think a cloth swap is a really cool idea :D
Xoxo
Sarah
Ahh, Ashley. I love this, and your style! Can't wait to get my mittens on this dress!
ReplyDeleteQuite good choice! The outfit is so cool that it can be launched in such a special day. I've enjoyed your passion about 'Jeffrey Campbell'. I think it's the achievement of the owner of Jeffrey Campbell. Thanks for a nice overview.
